The Oscar nominations announced this morning recognized "The King's Speech" and "True Grit" as the best movies of the year, as both received the most nominations. "The King's Speech" received 12 Oscar nominations from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Following an impressive dozen Oscar nominations, with 10 of its own is "True Grit." Some movies and stars were snubbed, but for the most part, the heavy-hitters are no surprise.

I actually like Colin Firth and the King's Speech. Have not yet seen True Grit and can't wait to see how the Oscars roll out this year. Not sure I like the idea of 10 films. I think that is kind of overkill. Thoughts?
