Other Things to Do at a Major League Baseball Game If You Are Bored

Come to the Park to Have a Good Time and Relax

Take me out to the ballgame. Take me out with the crowd. Buy some peanuts and cracker jacks. I don't care if I never get back. Whoa! What if you mean I don't care if I never get to the park. Some people do not like baseball. My wife is one. So was my son when he was smaller.

Let's face it. Baseball is the slowest played game of the major 4 sports. Hockey is fast, but lacks scoring. Football has a lot of action, but the weather can be tough on a fan. Basketball is always 72 degrees at each game, but often gets bogged down into a half court game of poor shooting and low scoring itself.

Baseball can be great if you come up with games to play at the games. We used to tell our son when he was 5 years old that he could have a hot dog before the game and then he could have a snack at the end of the 2nd, 5th, and 8th innings only. Luckily I made good money because he loved to eat. Although he did not watch the game he did watch the scoreboard and knew when he could get some peanuts or cracker jacks. Today he is 16 years old and is 6'9" and weighs 240 pounds.

We live in Denver and the Colorado Rockies mascots' name is Dinger. The first game we ever went to my wife yelled to our kids, "Look there's Ding Dong." That was another clue I had married a women who was not a big sports fan like I was. To get her involved we use to guess the total number of runs the game would have. That is not as easy as it sounds at a Rockies game. One game lasted over 4 hours and the total number of runs was 29 runs. Pitching is not a strong point at Coors Field.

Many of the ball parks have playgrounds now for little kids. They have all kinds of concessions. They have batting and pitching machines for the older kids. There are exhibits all over the place. You can watch the game in the bathroom.

For exercise try walking to the third level and avoid the escalator. Even better park 1 mile away and do not take the bus the team offers to it's fans. You can actually get great exercise and maybe even lose weight at a major league baseball game.

Baseball games can become a long drawn out affair. Even a pitching duel is not exciting to a person who does not appreciate great pitching. Come to the park to have a good time and just relax. You are outside getting fresh air and having a good time with your family and kids.
