More Promotion Tools

In school we learned about the law of supply and demand. If you have a home business you will learn that the law of supply and demand is tantamount to your success. The more demand for your products or services, the more income you will generate. But how can you create demand for the goods or services you offer? The operative word here is "promotion." Here are some more promotion tools you can utilize:

Email Signatures

This is the text that appears at the bottom of every email you send out. You should have a closing word such as "cheers", "best" or a word that can capture your type of business. Underneath that, place your name, contact info and website url. You can also add your company logo or tag line. Never send spam.

Forums and Discussion Boards

Search for online forums and discussion boards relating to your business. Chances are, you'll find existing posts from people asking questions in your area of expertise. Give your advice, suggest links for further reading and refer them to your website. Never spam discussion boards.

Online Press Releases

Create interesting and appealing press releases to generate more customers. One great tool that you can use is PR Web, a free PR distribution site where thousands of media contacts subscribe to.

Classified Ads

You can also publish ads in your local paper as well as in magazines. Generally, newspaper ads that appear on the weekends or when there's a big event generate more responses. For magazine ads, choose to advertise on magazines that closely relate to your type of business. Online, there are many websites where you can promote your business; some are for free, others are fee-based.

Ebooks and Ezines

Writing your own ebooks and ezines is not only a great marketing tool, it can also help generate more income. Make sure you write materials that are informative, compelling to read and free from grammatical errors.

Radio Shows and TV Appearances

If you want to take your business promotion a step further, being a guest on your local radio and TV programs will give you the exposure you need. Be sure to prepare yourself both physically and mentally before you go on air. Practice what you will say and have your cue cards ready.
