Our Children Will Dance

Chaperone's Get Groovy Too!

Catdog
Crazy in song, Our children will dance
Whether a hip hop song or techno trance
Coming to a prom near you
Recognizing a song or two
Guaranteed not your typical
This funny, yet hysterical
Version of the old school list
Your prom just can't resist!

Play that music loud now
Don't ask the chaperone how
They learned to dance like they do
Or they'll wanna dance with you!

Now it's time for the all new Annual "Hot and Bothered" Chaperone's 2008 Dance Hit list.
(Brought to you exclusively from Catdoggie Oggie Productions)

Bringing it back a notch to some real old school rock; give it up for number ten: The Commodore's "Brickhouse." Featuring Lionel Richie, this 1977 chart topper hit #3 on the Billboards Hits list. Warming it up and bringing it back, that's the Chaperone's style.
Breaking out of the cages for a well earned number nine is George Clinton's 1983, "Atomic Dog." This funky song hit #1 in U.S. R&B Billboard hits list. Now it's we're starting to heat the place up. Whoof! Whoof!
Storming into the number eight spotlight, can you feel the pain yet? It's 1992's House of Pain with "Jump Around." Before Everlast pursued his solo career, he could be found in the spotlight in 1992 hitting the charts at #3 in the Billboard's top 100. Jump up, Jump up, and Get down! (*Not responsible for any damages done)
Sneakily and surprisingly sliding into the seventh spot is all too well known Vanilla Ice with his 1991 single, "Ice, Ice Baby." This was the first rap album to hit #1 in the Billboards hits list.
Now that we are cooled down, let's bring out the big boys of Apollo 440 hitting number six with their 1999 hit, "Stop the Rock." Featured in "Gone in 60 seconds" this chart topper heats the room up quick.

Wrapping up the top ten, let's bring it back down a little with the top 5 contender's of this year's "Hot and Bothered" after a word from our sponsor's...

Welcome back! If you're not "hot and bothered" yet, you are sure to be with this years roundup of the top 5 dance songs of 2008.

A word to the wise, by now our chaperone's are getting a little crazy and insane. Therefore taking the fifth place spotlight is the all mighty Cypress Hill with "Insane in the Brain." This 1993 insane song hit #1 on the U.S. Rap Billboards.
Following crazy can only be good when you're in fourth and licensed to ill. Coming in strong is the one and the only, Beastie Boys! This 1986 single was the first rap album to hit #1 on the Billboard Album charts featuring the song "Brass Monkey." That funky monkey!
Third is the place to be if you aren't cool enough to make first! This nerdy group has it all down low and underground! Digital Underground steals third with "The Humpty Dance." This group lost their grammy for best rap solo to M.C. Hammer in "Can't touch this."
Being nerdy isn't as bad as you'd think, not when you're funky! That's where our second place runner comes in on our "Hot and Bothered" chart topping dance hit songs for 2008. Nobodies funkier than Tone Loc with "Funky Cold Medina."

Now that we have gotten hot, cold, ill, and funky..... there's nowhere to look except for the best.
Drum roll please...........

And the winner of the 2008 "Hot and Bothered" Chaperone's all time number one for 2008 is:

1993's best rap solo performance, the one and the only who maintained #1 for 5 weeks straight.
Give it up for The Craziest Prom song:
Sir Mix a Lot's "Baby Got Back!"

That concludes our Chaperone party. We hope you enjoyed the show and will join us next year for another exceptionally messed up Prom Dance Song list!
Thanks and have a good night.

  • This generation will know these songs too
  • Our chaperone's deserve fun too
Funny contribution to some of the songs we always hear. Some of them we hope to never hear again.

Okay, as a classic rocker who most listens to, yep, classic rock, I think the only artists I recognized were Lionel Ritchie and MC Hammer. Who doesn't know those guys! Creative article!!!
