Our Final Valentine's Day

Doug Clore
We two head ever near the west
As hand in hand our march slows to a stroll.
Our days of youth live on, in memories almost gone,
But today we share the joy of life together.

Foolishly we fought over silly selfish naught.
We laugh now, conflict's causes unremembered.
Finished with our fighting, we two are abiding
Side by side to our journey's peaceful end.

Young lovers rush as fast as life can go.
We've seen all they will see,
We've known all they will know,
We walk without a trace of hesitation.
We two can see our final destination -
"Welcome home guys, and by the way, well done"
