Our First Family Vacation

Tia Richardson
Last summer the kids and I took our first family vacation to Walt Disney World. We were on and off rides all day. It was probably about an hour before the park was about to close. My son and I decided to get on Big Thunder Mountain, since there was virtually no line to wait in. My daughter and my mother waiting while we rode the ride. I think we rode it at least 3 times back to back before we met up with my mother and daughter. Well when we got there she was very upset.

Apparently she thought it was unfair for me to only take my son. Well she was only 4 years old at the time so naturally I just figured she would be to scared to go on a ride that goes fast. So I decided since she was so upset about not going I would let her get on the ride. So when we got there I put her in the middle of me and my son just in case it got to be too much for her. She did fine. She wasn't scared at all. So after the ride was over we went to meet back up with my mother so she could tell her how much she enjoyed the ride. After we met up my daughter said she wanted to go again, so we did.

As we were heading towards the ride all of a sudden she started crying; I mean really crying alligator tears and all. Well I thought she might have gotten hurt or was just really scared to get on the ride again. So I picked her up so I could see what was wrong. That's when it happened the most memorable night of that entire vacation. I asked her what was wrong and she said I'm just so happy this is the best night of my life. Now moments like these is what makes motherhood the best. I will never forget this vacation.
