Our Halloween

A Beloved Holiday

Our Halloween
On the 20th of March we'll celebrate "Chag Purim", our Halloween (Purim holiday. Purim = Lots, derived from the Akkad's language(.
It's the most beloved holiday among children just as Halloween is I guess. We wear masks and costumes and have Purim parades.
Wearing masks is forbidden according to the ten commandments, but since a great miracle saved the lives of the Jewish population in the Persian empire some 3000 years ago, and since the protagonists of that miraculous event: the beautiful Esther had to hide her face from Hamman the king's first minister (her name is derived from Ishtar the pagan fertility goddess); while her uncle (or sponsor? One can never know).
Mordechai had to hide his knowledge of languages and his wisdom from his enemies (his name by the way is derived from the pagan head Babelulian god Marduk), we are allowed to celebrate this holiday with masks and costumes. Some say history repeats itself and it's so true. Just as Hamman wished to annihilate the Jewish population of the Persian (Iran) empire, Ahmednijar or whatever his name is, wishes to destroy the state of Israel - with an atom bomb no less.
Thus the fate of that population was at stake, and that's the origin of that holiday name, for Hamman had thrown lots (well made of bones or some relics of some kind like a shaman) to decide when and what methods are fit to annihilate our ancestors.
The king was looking for a new queen so he decided to have a beauty venue; you know, just like these contests that you watch on TV.

So Mordechai found Esther, whether he was her uncle is a bit dubious, that's according to the scroll of Esther, which is part of the bible - and I think that nominating him as her uncle was needed for respectability purposes.

Anyway he must have looked for her all over Shushan the Persian capital. He told her to hide her face and her Jewish origin of course, till the king would see her. When the king saw Esther's face he felt as if the palace ceiling crushed upon his head,

She was elected the queen of the Persian empire from India to Cush (must be Ethiopia or Saudi Arabia at least). Mordechai was nominated the king's new first minister, and Hamman in his desperation turned to Esther to ask her to help him. She complained to the king of Hamman's harassment of course, Hamman was doomed and that's the miracle that we celebrate to this very day.
