Our Hope: Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center for Women

Our Hope of Grand Rapids Michigan is an inpatient drug and alcohol residential treatment center for woman regardless of their ability to pay. Once a woman goes through a drug or alcohol detox center or hospital, they may need a longer term residential treatment to overcome their additions. Our Hope is for any woman over the age of 18 who needs the protection of constant monitoring until that woman can stay sober by themselves and can maintain their treatment on their own.

As an alumnus of Our Hope, I have the first hand knowledge of the power that an inpatient residential drug and alcohol treatment center can have. Many of the women that went through the 28 day treatment program with me either committed suicide or went back to drinking and or drugging.

Our Hope provides a safe environment for women to focus on their own program.

After years of alcohol and drug abuse, the home environment quite often has become violent and extremely tainted. As difficult as it is to leave your children and loved ones behind, for some women coming out of an addiction, living in a residential center is their only hope for survival.

Our Hope is a non-profit center that is approved by the State of Michigan for substance abuse services.

Our Hope is a three step program to help teach women coping skills that they may carry into their normal lives. The 12 step program is encouraged as part of the treatment. There is counseling provided for the women and sometimes skill programs are recommended to teach the women to become self sufficient. The normal stay at Our Hope is 3 months. My stay was longer as I guess I needed more. When I entered Our Hope I was suicidal. This may have contributed to my longer stay.

Our Hope has an intensive outpatient program for women in recovery with children.

This was started long after I left. The women have three four hour sessions per week for eight weeks or as long as needed. This program was designed for those women who have children who could not leave their children to go to an inpatient treatment program.

Women in recovery have different needs and Our Hope was created to fill these needs.

I firmly believe that if I had not had the opportunity to have been a resident of Our Hope I would not be here today. Our Hope is mainly designed to treat women that live in the Grand Rapids area or a close proximity to proved women with the tools and support to continue in their sobriety and become functioning members of the community. Our Hope may only look like a large house, but to many women it was a haven for recovery.
