Our Love: A Poem

Dawn Crowell
When I am with you the warmth of you and me blend like the cherry blossoms welcoming the sun

Your love is so deep and sensually god sent

Do you know where my love has been?

I've been hurt

I've been betrayed

But when I'm with you, in your love I feel saved

It is like the sun shinning high on an August day

Spraying my body with rays of lust

So sensual

So sweet

Our thang is a good thang

We blend like strawberries and cream

Is it lust?

Or a temporary fix

Is it true what they say about love?

That it can be bitter sweet or cruel

Our thang is a good thang

I know you, you know what I like

All things that move me

Your love is everything

One day you say you will have your way

To make my sea of love blanket you

The ocean wide and blue,

My I've been searching for you

Patiently waiting for you

To be the blanket I warp myself in each night

To be the lotion that sinks into my skin

To be the very air I breathe

The ocean of love is my place I rest

Where our hearts meet and beat as one.

Solid! You just let it all out.

I like this poem! It expresses the kind of love that I've grown to appreciate... "Hearts meet and beat as one".
