Our Mothers

David Lanier
Mothers are the loving teachers,
who are my favorites,
of all the folks upon the earth.
At all the places i have been,
they are the ones who tend
the home side hearth.
They are the gentle,
loving, guiding hands,
who lead their tiny tots
into this world.
They tenderly teach each
necessary fact of life,
to each child in it's turn.
Mothers are to little
boys and girls,
the shining light of life,
to each child's mind.
To adult children too,
mothers impart the
logic and philosophy,
to justify each goal in life.
But, most of all,
mothers are the
self sacrificers of today,
who try to teach
the younger folks
how to live better
for tomorrow and everyday.
