No one wanted to feel fault so we disagreed
Then after we made up and celebrated
And made the commitment to not break "us" up
We grabbed each other's hand a continued down our path
And before long we were at yet another fork in the road
Not one of us knew what to do so we disagreed
We sat there, not speaking for days, and then when we spoke, we only said hurtful things
No one wanted to decide which way to go with what we had
As I looked down the two long roads
I became afraid to take the one that left me alone
But I could stand there no longer
wondering if he was coming with me or not
He said nothing to me so it seemed that it did not matter
But I knew it did matter, so I waited
I sat my patient self down to ponder my faults
and he did the same
Then we both apologized for being out of place
Then we put it out of mind
And grabbed each other's hand and continued on our path
Then just when I thought that everything was settled
and that love would keep us together
We had to decide again
Was being right or wrong really worth not going on?
Why did it have to be anger?
He screamed at me like I was a stranger.
I'm done.
I chose my path and I didn't look back
Packed my woes in my knapsack
It was lonely so I looked back
He wasn't there, "I knew he didn't love me", I said.
He stood there wanting to kick at something for being so filled with anger
But realized that I had walked away from him like he was a stranger
"I knew she didn't love me, she gave up on me"
After days of missing and being missed
Soon after no loving and not being kissed
We agreed to meet at the fork in the road
I came, wanting to be "right"
He came wanting my lips
I came, wanting to be justified
He came wanting my hips
I wanted him to be good to me
He said he wanted to be good to me
His eyes begged for my body
We agreed to disagree about whatever as long as we can disagree together
So we grabbed each other's hand and continued down our path once again.
