Our Scary Encounter with a Wiccan Witch

Amy Gayle
Go back like 8-10 years. We were really great friends with our neighbors at my parent's house. Then all of a sudden, their cat ends up shot and dead and they blame my brother. He denies it, even to this day...and he WOULD admit it now if he had done it. So for the last 8-10 years, we haven't spoken to these people because they HATE us for killing their cat.

So, we were at my parent's house to celebrate my brother's birthday when I looked outside and my dad is talking to the dead-cat-neighbor-guy. I'm like, "WHAT???" All of a sudden, I see my dad talking to my brothers and from the looks of it, it wasn't a good conversation between him and the neighbor. He tells my mom that he has brought the dead cat again...how they just can't get over it and how my brother killed it. He also tells my dad that they have left Christianity and are now studying witchcraft and we better watch out....COO KOO COO KOO!!!! (Sorry for those of you that study it, but this guy ruined it for ya!)

Dad goes back outside to continue grilling and the guy is back again! This time, my dad is seriously ticked off! My father, he does not have outbursts, he pouts when he's mad. MY DAD WAS SCREAMING! The witch starts sobbing over the 10 years ago dead cat. Anyway, they argue for a good 15 minutes at least.

So we go inside and eat dinner, after we eat, we sit outside and here comes the neighbor guy again...but this time, he kneels at his front steps and starts lighting these candles and praying to them. We are laughing that he's trying to scare us. This pisses him off further and he goes in the house and slams the door. Later, he comes back and lights more candles. He is still kneeling in front of the candles, but this time, he's got his arms raised to the sky.

Through the course of the evening, this witch keeps coming and going and watching our parent's house. Later in the evening when everyone's starting to head home, there are just a few of us left sitting at the dining room table chatting. All of a sudden, my mom gasps and yells, "HE'S IN OUR BACKYARD!" The witch had the nerve to come all the way onto the back patio, people! At this point, I'm officially scared. This man is a mental case and I'm afraid of what he might do. My dad calls the cops and they come talk to us. The cops first question about the man was "Has he been drinking?" Apparently, the cops know them and have been there quite a bit.

The cop then goes over to their house to talk to the guy and the cop keeps shining his light on the candles and the neighbor keeps throwing his hands around in a mad rage and spouting his witchcraft to the cop.

The cops leave and the guy storms back into his house and slams the door. We told mom and dad to sleep with a gun under their pillow tonight. I'm nervous about the situation. I'm telling you, not a word from them in like 8-10 years and now this???? Mental case!

Now, as a side note, I have met a wicca witch that was very nice and peaceful. She told me that the Wicca faith wasn't one that cast hexes and spells or made threats, but this just made me wonder about it all even more and how much truth she was telling me. If you do study Wicca and want to shed some light on the subject, go ahead.

I noticed you put Wicca in the title and not in the article. A witch is not always a Wiccan but a Wiccan is always a witch.

I assume you, as a Wiccan myself, that this guy is just crazy and not Wiccan at ALL> Wiccans main thing is called the Wiccan Rede and it states, do what ye will, as long as it harms none. That measn that a REAL wiccan or Witch is not going to harm you in any way, shapre, or form. That includes yelling at your dad. Verbal harm is just as much of a no-no as physical harm. Plus, Wicca is much more than just lighting candles. Perhaps he thought he was attempting to do a binding to prevent anyone in the house from harming them, but he just sounds crazy to me. Sorry you had to endure this. Hopefully he will move or end up in jail, where ha can't bother you anymore.

Amy Gayle, I was searching for a wiccan costume for halloween and some how ended up on this site reading your story. My brother is wiccan and believe me the dead cat neighbor guy is far from what wicca stands for. They believe that if they do something bad to someone it will come back on them three fold. If this guy had tried to put a hex on your family he would have gotten it back on him three times more.
Flat out, this guy is a loone!

One of my dearest friends is a wiccan...she is one of the nicest people I know. This guy was NOT what the wiccans stand for and it was scary and still is. The guy has been drawing images in the street between their house & my parent's house now!
