Our Sojourn

How Life Works!

Bud Young
During my evening sojourn
Something was amiss
Evidence of poor choices
In my midst

A house bedizened
With expensive trifles
Toys of all kinds
Electronics, trophies and rifles

Evidence abundantly clear
To my heart what is important
A rodomontade declaring
A blaring constant

Alone I am
Surrounded by empty trinkets
A reflection of my heart
It hurts to even think it

God showed me that evening
In a long personal session
How life works
He revealed life's true progression

In the beginning
God created a system
A system which included
God, you and me
We all make choices
As a result we experience consequences
The results could be from my choices
Your choices or God's choices

Those that are healthy among us
Learn from this procession
The enlightened ones among us
Focus on a loving progression

So as we sojourn together
Let us learn to love
Meeting each other right where we are
Like the One who came from above

So, what do you say?
Would you like to journey together?
Can we help each other learn to love like Christ?
Let's help each other make God's Heart Smile!
