The police are still looking into the matter, and Tulsa World Crime Watch reported that the Albino Burmese Python and the Rainbow Brazilian boa cost up to $600 each. Both of these snakes were stolen. The remaining four were two bald pythons and two red-tailed boas.
If you have information on the stolen snakes or if you are offered to buy an exotic snake, than you should contact the Wagoner County Sheriff's department at 485-3124.
The sanctuary is operated by donations. They make there money by donations and admission tickets. The Tulsa World Crime Watch also reported that money was stolen from the safe.
The money I can truly understand, but what would possess anyone to steal a snake, let alone six of them. Anyone that has had the opportunity to read some of my articles is familiar with the fact I do not like snakes. I am not afraid of them, but I do scream like a little girl when I suddenly see one, so the idea that six snakes were stolen is something I would never imagine.
Money, jewelry, and even artwork I can imagine, but snakes? If you were to steal six snakes where would you keep them? Probably in your car or in your house. Can you imagine walking into a room and finding six snakes? I feel sorry for anyone they may live with because these snakes are not tiny, the Burmese python is 8 feet.
I can not imagine it, and reading this article I was shocked. All these snakes were donated to the sanctuary, and I sincerely hope they get them back soon. I am interested in finding out the outcome of this case, so if you do hear anymore about the snake abductions in Tulsa please let me know.

Post a CommentIt was surprise for me to read it as well. Donna: I agree. They need to be caught, and prosecuted for this.
Why someone would want to steal snakes is beyond me. I'm terrified of them!
Yikes!:0)
While snakes make me literally pass out, I hate the thought that someone stole these creatures from a sanctuary. I hope they are caught and prosecuted.
