Out on a Fantasy Football Limb Volume 6

Ryan Lester
I'm going back out on that fantasy football limb. I will pick five players I believe will score more points this week than a higher profile player. The scoring will be 6 points for rushing or receiving TD, 4 points for a passing TD, .1 points per yard for rushing or receiving and .05 points per passing yard. I will also do a Super Stretch Pick where I take a real longshot. First, I'll recap last week.

Last Week
Peyton Manning 20.45 beat Jon Kitna 5.6 WHICH I GOT WRONG.
Edgerrin James 9.7 beat Frank Gore 7.5 as I predicted
Cedric Benson 12.9 beat Michael Pittman 1.5 WHICH I GOT WRONG.
Braylon Edwards 11.0 beat Brandon Marshall 7.2 WHICH I GOT WRONG.
Steve Smith 10.7 beat Roy Williams 3.6 WHICH I GOT WRONG.

Super Stretch
Gus Frerotte 25.2 beat Matt Hasselbeck 5.8 as I predicted

Recap
Regular Picks: 1-4
Super Stretch Picks: 1-0
Overall: 2-4
Breakdown: QB: 1-1, RB: 1-1, WR: 0-2

Season Record
Regular Picks: 12-13
Super Stretch Picks: 4-1
Overall: 16-14
Breakdown: QB: 4-2, RB: 9-4, WR: 3-8

This Week's Picks
Drew Brees over Matt Schaub
How bad has this year been for Brees? He has 929 yards and only 1 TD, which makes him an Out on a Limb candidate vs. Schaub (1299 & 5 TDs). I have no reason to think he snaps out of his funk, but I'm going on a hunch. Schaub should have his hands full with Jacksonville.

LaDainian Tomlinson over Shaun Alexander and Maurice Jones-Drew
LT always destroys Oakland. I am doing my first two for one special of the year. LT will outscore SA & MJD combined in a battle of the Initial RBs.

Jason Wright over DeShaun Foster
Jason Wright may or may not get the start. Jamal Lewis missed last week with a foot injury. Miami has a bad run defense, so Wright may get some work either way. Foster faces a quietly tough Arizona defense.

Randy Moss over Terrell Owens +2 points
Let's face it. New England-Dallas is the best matchup this season. Moss-MeO is the most intriguing WR matchup this weekend. I'll spot MeO 20 yards. Moss will prove he's Boss.

Dwayne Bowe over Torry Holt
The rookie has looked pretty darn good. I think his size will be a factor against Cincy. Holt has to face Baltimore with a backup QB.

SUPER STRETCH
Kurt Warner over Tony Romo
Romo looked horrible on Monday. This week it doesn't get any easier against New England. Warner should do decent if he doesn't get hurt. I just hope his wife isn't doesn't get her typical coverage.

What did you think of my predictions? Do you have any fantasy upsets in mind? Please leave your comments.

JP - I've done well with the super picks. A couple of the WR picks have been close. They are virtual ties. A few more yards and my record looks better. Brees has to bounce back, right? Moss with Brady is a diff't animal. Plus MeO has been running his mouth. What would Madden do if GB played DAL. He'd be gushing the whole time.

Don't tell Madden about Romo. Freakin' Bears vs. Pack game, Romo isn't playing and they are gushing over him. Favre scrambles on a play evades the pass rush and they say "There goes Old Romo" sick of it and him.

You are 4-1 with your super stretch picks!

I need to pick up Warner. How long can Brees go without a decent game? Last time they meet was when T.O. was an eagle and Moss a raider.

TO had 80 yards 1 TD. Moss had 86 yards 0 TD.

    I like Moss too.

We'll see Camp. Hopefully, I'm right. Mainly on the Romo part.

Good call on Warner. Romo did the same thing last year 4 huge games and then was below average the rest of the year. At best he's a hit or miss guy, some weeks huge, some weeks 5 picks.
