Out of Harm's Way

Robin Jessie-Green
Wrap me up in a chrysalis

a cocoon, a womb, anything

Shelter me from all of this

The world and all that entering it brings

Tuck me safely inside allowing me to grow

If it gets any worse than this

I do not wish to know

Protect me from the outside world

Where there's harm awaiting

This little girl

Secure me from the heartbreak and toil

Lest my goodness and innocence

Get exposed to spoil

Prepare me for the evil that men do

Before I emerge a babe

born brand new.

The poem was so sweet, but at first I thought you were hugging a pillow. I am slow on the uptake. Great poem!!!!!
