In Arkansas, there are plenty of outdoor attractions for visitors to participate in while visiting Hot Springs. There are many activities fit for everyone including visiting National parks, riding the "Duck," taking hikes along Mountain trails and much more.

There are several National Parks located in Hot Springs, including Lake Ouachita State Park and Lake Catherine State Park. Lake Ouachita is one of the cleanest lakes in America. With 40,000 acres of land and 975 miles of shoreline, this park is sure to please visitors who are unfamiliar to the area. The lake is perfect for many different watersports. There are 8 cabins located in this park, with 7 cabins overlooking the lake and 1 located in the woods. The cabins can sleep up to 8 people and include 2-3 bedrooms for sleep and fireplaces. For more information about this fantastic park, you can visit http://www.lakeouachita.org

Lake Catherine State Park is prefect for those who prefer scenic Mountain trails. This park comes with 17-fully equipped rustic cabins with kitchens. Some of these cabins were built by Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. While at this park, visitors can enjoy horseback riding, boat rentals, hiking trails, and much more. For more information about Lake Catherine State Park, visitors can call 501-844-4176.

If preferred, visitors can also partake in the National Park "Duck" Tour. There are 12 World War II duck boats used to accommodate visitors to different sites along the way. This tour includes a 75-minute tour of Lake Hamilton and Hot Springs, Arkansas. The tour starts at Bathhouse Row, then continues through Lake Hamilton, and passes through St. John's Island. There are many exciting parts of the tour, including entering the lake through the road, and hearing from the host on board about the historic town. If interested in the Duck tours, you may call 501-321-2911.

While you are Downtown in Hot Springs, be sure to bring empty gallons for water. Hot Springs is famous and well known for its natural spring water. The water can reach up to 147 degrees in temperature. There are water filling stations for visitors to fill the empty gallons near the corner of Central Avenue and Reserve Street. This natural spring water helps create the Mountain Valley Spring Water.

One last enjoyment is perfect for those who love scenic trails. If you look at the photos on my page, you will actually see photos taken while on top of West Mountain. This is just one of the many mountain trails that visitors can hike, bike, or picnic at. West Mountain climbs up to 1,414 feet above sea level. Once you reach the top of the Mountain, it is a beautiful view. Just look at the pictures!
