Savannah, Georgia offers a number of beautiful historic sites, but many adventures can be had outdoors. So, for Great Outdoors Month, prepare to enjoy everything that Savannah has out of closed doors. If you are fresh out of ideas for splendid fun, here are a few that you can borrow.

Take a carriage ride through the historic district. These rides are accompanied by a knowledgeable tour guides that promise to be full of tidbits left out of the travel brochures. These rides range widely in prices depending on the number of people going and whether the carriage ride is private or not. For a spookier side of outdoor activities, consider taking a walk through one of the beautiful and historic cemeteries in Savannah, Georgia. Colonial Cemetery is located more centrally than the larger and more famous Bonaventure Cemetery. However, Colonial Cemetery has equally interest (and somewhat older) history. Bonaventure Cemetery, mad famous partially thanks to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, always promises a beautiful and scenic walk through for those that are not afraid to spend awhile in a cemetery. For more information on Colonial Cemetery, please visit: http://www.savannahga.gov/cityweb/cemeteriesweb.nsf/cemeteries/colonial.html For more information on Bonaventure Cemetery, please visit: http://www.savannahga.gov/cityweb/cemeteriesweb.nsf/cemeteries/bonaventure.html

If sun and sand are part of the agenda, look no further than Tybee Island Beach. The scenic island is home to the Tybee Island lighthouse and many other attractions. Activities such as climbing to the top of the lighthouse, swimming, boating, kayaking, tanning, and other beach and water sport are always popular. For more information on the Tybee Island beach and lighthouse, as well as other attractions, please visit: http://www.tybeeisland.com/

Savannah, Georgia is a fascinating city- much too fascinating to spend behind closed doors and windows. So, for this year's Great Outdoors Month, considering doing one of more of the suggestions above. Better yet, do all of them and more.
