While traveling through southern Missouri, the first thing you will notice is the Ozark mountains. With scenic views and hilly landscapes, you will be surprised at how beautiful southern Missouri really is. But pretty scenery is not the only thing to expect while vacationing in the Ozarks. There are many outdoor activities, that the whole family can enjoy.

Here are a few Places to see in Southern Missouri.

Branson Missouri is best known for being the live music capitol of the world. Silver dollar city located in Branson, is an amusement park with rides and live shows. It has an old west theme and even has booths that show how things were made in the olden days. After spending the day in Silver dollar city you can cool off at White Water amusement park . It is also located in Branson. It is a huge water park with many different rides to choose from. Johnson Shut-in state park is one of Missouri's natural wonders. It is located 80 miles southwest of St.Louis. Around a billion years ago volcanoes exploded and ashes and gas formed into rock. About 250 million years later the Ozarks region's lava rock, lifted to form the Johnson shut -in. This formed natural rock and placed water slides and rock formations in the Black river. Although it is known for naturally formed water slides and pleasant scenery, there are also places to picnic and camp there. As well as good food and clean lodging.

    Pam,

I have done quite a bit of traveling in my life, but I've never been to Missouri. However, I recently reconnected with an old friend from the Navy who lives there. She even mention Branson, so I'll know what to do now when I go visit her. Great article. Thanks, Paula Brehm

You should always tack a picture onto these things. It is more likely to get featured that way.

Thanks for the travel tips. MO is definitely on my "short list" in the next couple of years.

I travelled through Missouri briefly a few years ago and spent the night there. But I did not get a chance to see a lot of what the state had to offer. Thanks for the travel tips, Pam!

I love Mo, and Northern Arkansas too. They both have beautiful country. I hope to get up to Mark Twain's home sometime. My wife and I both love traveling and seeing new places, and we especially love the mountains. We also have hopes of going to Branson and see some of those country music shows sometime--maybe Mickey Gilley or Gene Williams. Great work! Johnny Yuma
