Camping with childern can be one the most rewarding experiences of your adult life. You get to help shape the next generation and watch as they too discover a love for nature and the outdoors. Camping can be a wonderful adventure for both childern and adults as there is much to enjoy and experience, such as, the birds and animals, the plants and trees, the rocks, the streams and ponds, the insects, the sounds, the weather, the wildflowers, and the many camping activities that can provide much excitement and enjoyment throughout the adventure. You may consider a visit to the Nature Center to see what is available for family interest, and ask the park rangers about ideas and tips to get your childern involved with some park activities. Taking in a park interpretive nature session is a great way for childern to learn about the park and to eliminate thier fears of the outdoor surroundings. Camping with childern you may want to teach them about outdoor skills and outdoor ethics. Make camping chores fun, such as, collecting fire wood and who can gather the most. Childern love to help set up camp; being close to thier parents and hearing those camp directives and caring out a duty to perform that allows for them the freedom of self-expression as they too take in the new experience. Above all, the bonding of father-son and mother-daughter will be enhanced and the camping adventure will give a lifetime of memories.
