DECKS
If your existing deck is looking a bit under the weather these days, then a makeover will do it wonders. Decks have a tendency to fade and crack over the years with exposure to sun, rain and other weather elements.
The first step to making over your deck is to clean it thoroughly. Second, seal your deck with a good sealant. The deck makeover will take a few days. After cleaning your deck you should wait the allotted time the sealant manufacturer recommends before applying the sealant to ensure the deck is taken care of properly.
EXTERIOR BLEMISHES
Repair all exterior blemishes your home and yard may have. Add a fresh coat of paint to all the woodwork that has paint chipping and peeling. This will help your home look new again. Also, trimming all overgrown hedges that block views and have taken over your yard will help improve your home's curb appeal.
Another blemish that is important to fix is anything that may be broken. The shudders that are halfway hanging on the house because of the windstorm. The broken step you avoid when coming in the front door. Shudders and doors are just a few examples. Most every home owner has a broken or messed up something that needs fixed outdoors. This will not only help your home look better but it will help with the safety of you and your family.
LANDSCAPING
Landscaping lets you use your imagination, which opens up a whole world of possibilities. A focal point is a great start, which will give you something to work around. Water elements like small ponds, fountains, or decorative bird baths are a good idea for this.
After your focal point is put into place, it is time to pick out the flowers and foliage for your landscaping. Different colors, styles, and heights will help bring in dimension to your landscape design, thus bringing curb appeal. When planting make sure to pick out items that will thrive in your climate zone.
PRIVACY FENCES
If you decide to install a privacy fence it is always a good idea to call your building department to see if you need a permit to build your new fence. The building department can also give you important information on the maximum height of the fence you are installing. It is also a good idea to have the property surveyed so the placing of the fence will be on accurate property lines.
A privacy fence is a good way to make your outdoor living space much quieter and less chaotic, therefore adding extra curb appeal. Whatever the reason you decide to install a privacy fence, there is a perfect one out there for you.
Since all your curb appeal ideas have become a reality, it is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy your new outdoor oasis that will probably have your neighbors talking for years to come.
