Once the sun sets, the fun doesn't have to end for kids and family members looking to stay entertained while camping or enjoying outdoor evening family gatherings. Besides roasting marshmallows and telling stories around the camp fire, consider adding a game of glow in the dark ring toss or frisbee to your arsenal of things to do on your next camping trip or get together.

Outdoor Games to Play at Night - Glow in the Dark Ring Toss

To make your own glow in the dark ring toss, all you need is a package or two of glow-in-the-dark, glow stick bracelets. You can usually find a package of 15 glow stick bracelets at craft stores or discount retailers for just a few dollars. Depending on the number of players you'll want to have enough bracelets to allow at least two glow-in-the dark bracelet rings per player and three bracelet glow sticks for the target ring. A package of 15 glow in the dark bracelets works well for 4 to 6 players.

The glow in the dark bracelet set comes with connectors to make rings out of the thin glow sticks. Most glow sticks just need to be bent to activate their glowing properties, but be sure to follow the instructions provided with the glow in the dark bracelets you purchased.

Take three similar colored glow sticks and connect together to make the large target ring for the ring toss. Then using one glow stick bracelet, make individual rings and separate by color so each player has at least two small rings of the same color to use.

Place the larger glow in the dark ring on the ground . The large glow in the dark ring will serve as the target for the ring toss. Players should stand about ten feet from the large glow in the dark ring with the object of the game trying to land the most rings inside the large ring. Players who are able to land one ring into the target will receive two points. The player who gets closest to the outside of the ring receives one point. The winner is the player who reaches 15 point first.

Glow in the Dark Games to Play at Night - Glow Stick Frisbee

Another fun outdoor game to play outside at night is glow in the dark frisbee. Using the same glow in the dark bracelets, connect two glow in the dark sticks together to make a small ring. This will serve as a Frisbee to play catch with. This works particularly well for a small group of older children or adults. Add a bit more challenge to the game by using two or three glow in the dark rings and put the group in a circle and try to keep them all going by tossing them back and forth to each other.

For your next camping trip or outdoor party, be sure to have some glow in the dark bracelets on hand to make some fun glow in the dark games to keep the fun going even after the sun has set. These glow in the dark games are perfect outdoor games for kids to play after dark.
