Outdoor Movie Themed Christmas Decorations for The Nightmare Before Christmas

Kitty Stevens
Outdoor movie-themed Christmas decorations make the holiday even more fun. I decided that this year I wanted to really celebrate big. It had been a very long year full of things that just were not fun. Now free of that I wanted to get back to living my life as I am used to. So I decided to create a themed outdoor Christmas décor for my home. I decided to go with a "The Nightmare Before Christmas" theme from the movies. It was very appropriate considering. Here is how I did that.

I started by looking for all things related to the Nightmare Before Christmas theme. I found most of them at Target and local craft fairs. I wanted people coming into my home to feel as though they had stepped into the movie. Here are some of those creations.

Jack Skellington

I took a while to find this gem. I ended up locating it at a local Albuquerque craft fair. It is just what I needed for my yard. Here he is in all his Skelington glory. I placed him on the front walk that leads to my front door. I then placed some leftover fake spider web string from Halloween along the bushes on the drive. It looked really nice. I finished with purple and green lights.

Sandy Claus

Then I wanted a front door Jack as well. I took some paper mache and created this Jack with my friends over the week. It took some time but with wire to frame the figure and paper mache, it came out just right. We finished with textured paint and a skinny Santa Claus costume that I also found at the craft fair.

The Front Door

I ended with a purple and black wreath on my front door. This one was easy. I just took some Nightmare Before Christmas bulbs and striped ribbon. I then added all of the pieces to a black wreath that I bought at Hobby Lobby. It completed my outdoor movie theme of the Nightmare Before Christmas.
