The amount of spam email messages is increasing worldwide and sensing the enormity of the problem, Microsoft has introduced spam filters in Outlook Express. These spam filters can detect potential spam messages and automatically sent them to the junk messages folder. This can save you a lot of time as you do not have to read each and every email to decide whether it is a spam message. But is the Outlook Express spam filter good enough to detect and block spam messages? Read on to decide whether you need additional spam filters to block unwanted emails.
Even though Outlook Express is a great piece of software, the inbuilt spam filters are not up to the mark. That doesn't mean the spam filters are bad, it only means that they cannot be trusted to block each and every spam message. A big part of the problem is that Microsoft is not a company that designs spam blockers or antivirus softwares. The companies that design spam blocker softwares are at the forefront of researching new techniques that can fight spam messages effectively. Since Microsoft is not one of them, you cannot trust its products to fight spam effectively. Another problem is that the Outlook Express is a very small part of the overall Microsoft office package. So you cannot expect that fighting spam to have the highest priority of such a complex software.
This means that you need to install additional spam blocker software to augment the spam fighting capabilities of Outlook Express. You must remember that spam messages are getting more and more sophisticated nowadays and they are designed to bypass the traditional spam filters. So you need a spam blocking software that is updated regularly to fight new kinds of spam threats. The Outlook Express clearly lacks this capability which means you cannot depend on its spam filters to fight the latest kinds of spam messages. The professional spam blocker softwares are better to fight all kinds of spam messages as they are focused and dedicated to fighting spam.
So the Outlook Express might be a great piece of software but it clearly lacks the focused approach and the ability to fight the spam messages. If you are using Outlook Express for your personal or professional use, I would recommend that you do not rely solely on its spam filters and install a professional spam blocker software to fight spam more effectively.
