Outside Lands 2010: Outside Lands Tickets and Lineup

Jennifer Waite
The Outside Lands 2010 festival in San Francisco will feature Phil Lesh and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, and their summer salute to culture and rock-and-roll with bands such as Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Furthur, Social Distortion, Wolfmother and many, many more. The two former 'Dead' members have held the Outside Lands event for the past two years, with the 2010 installment marking the third annual concert series/all-out-festival hosted by the Lesh and Weir.

Outside Lands 2010 will be held August 14 and August 15, at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Two-day Outside Lands tickets go on sale on June 2 at 10 AM, while one-day tickets for the event will become available starting June 6 at the same time. This ticket release information is according to the official Outside Lands 2010 event web site. The summer music and culture event bills itself simply: "Music. Food. Wine. Art."

Tickets for the highly anticipated Outside Lands 2010 festival of music, food and fun in the sun aren't cheap; think of it as a two-day Disney excursion for grown folks, and expect to pay about as much, Ticket prices range between $75.00 for a single day ticket, $125 Advance 2-Day Ticket (which will bump to $140 soon after sales open and Advance tickets run out) and VIP Outside Lands 2010 tickets for $225-395.

The VIP Outside Lands 2010 tickets package includes a poster, and exclusive Polo Club access with shade, seating, activities, and even massage services! Also included: easy access to beer and cleaner restrooms than the general crowd, and in a park full of hippies in San Francisco, this privilege alone might be well worth the extra dough.

Consider travel expenses to San Fran, lodging and food for the duration of the Outside Lands festival, and you're looking at a pretty penny for some good old-fashioned, barefoot tunes in the park. Ah, the 21-st century...but, hey, it's whats left of the Grateful dead, and a whole lot more. So, snag your tickets early, they're predicted to go fast!

I just saw the GD once, in Seattle, just a few weeks before Jerry Garcia died - it was a memorable experience...
