Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco

Music fans will be gathering at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on August 22 through August 24 for the 2008 Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival. Radiohead, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Jack Johnson are just several of the performers that will be featured during the three day music event.

The concert festival is expected to have five stages of entertainment, showcasing a variety of musical acts. Those attending the fest can expect to hear music from genres like rock, blues, jazz, hip-hop, world music, and more. San Francisco's historic Golden Gate Park could possibly see as many as 160,000 people over the course of the three day inaugural event. Much effort is going into the details of planning the festival, seeing that this will be one of the biggest events the park has ever hosted.

Although the main focus of the Outside Lands is experiencing the music, it is expected that a wide variety of local cultural attractions will be also be featured. Food from local restaurants, as well as visual arts from a variety of artists will be showcased. The event is being produced by Another Planet Entertainment LLC, a company which has produced well over 500 events since it's creation in 2003. The company has had a great deal of experience and has produced shows which have featured artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews Band, and Bob Dylan. Superfly Productions and Star Hill Presents are also involved with the promotion of the 2008 Outside Lands festival.

The event will also be produced with environmental awareness in mind. It is expected that the Outside Lands festival will be focused on bringing attention to earth friendly efforts such as recycling and carbon offsets. In addition, the event will benefit the Recreation & Park Department of San Francisco California.
