Halloween is coming fast, are you prepared? From politics, celebrities, musicians, the controversial, the super gross, the traditional, off-the-wall, storybook, fantasy, animals, toddlers, pregnant mothers, sports to classics, we share this incredible list of over 200 Halloween costume ideas. A one stop window shop for the Halloween costume block in you.

Political Halloween Costume Ideas

Lady Gaga took her stand in politics when it came to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" as reported by MTV. Put on a medium length blond wavy wig, black dress jacket, white button-down with a dark blue tie with white stars along with a pair of thick black rimmed glasses and shout it out for the world to hear. "No more military homophobes!"

The Barack Obama costume should include a long sleeve one pocket white button-down shirt, light blue tie, black slacks, and shiny black shoes. The undershirt should be a Superman tank top with the "S". Allow it to be seen by not buttoning a couple mid buttons on the white shirt. Obama's pocket on his white button-down should hold as many pens that can fit, he loves to sign bills into law and usually uses one pen per signature. Roll up a paper and tie a bow around it. Here's where the fork in the road begins.

Whether you support or do not support Obama put in bold letters on the top of the rolled paper "Healthcare Bill". The supporter holds it up high with a smile. The non-supporter holds a RFID (radio frequency identification data) scanner (prop) high in question in one hand and the "Healthcare Bill" in the other. For those who do not know what RFID is Google "healthcare bill RFID registry skin". Lastly, the supporters can wear a "re-elect me" button as the non-supporters can place a line across the re-election button. Only prop left is the short black wig if you do not have the right hairstyle.

Don't judge a book by the first page, continue...

Other politicians include lipstick packing, fashion glass Sarah Palin who could hold a map where every state is red in color and in the other hand a gun with a how-to-shoot instruction guide (created by you). Don't forget the "Vote, for me, me, me, me" button. From Tea Party supporters to Homeland Security, the CIA or FBI, there's always a character to toss into this political costume ring. And if you plan on dressing like Nancy Pelosi prepare to be egged. Don't shoot the messenger.

Celebrity Halloween Costumes

Celebrities, got to love them in their sometimes twisted world. As if you didn't see this coming - Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay's outfit can include either an orange jumper or short skirt with tight shirt and SCRAM (you could use a watch) bracelet, lots of mascara, tons of eyeliner with a long blond wig. Others can go as Michael Lohan as he argues with Dina Lohan while the Lindsay character says "I love you mummy" as she rolls her eyes at dear old mixed up dad. Lindsay's character can also spark up conversations in sharing "all I need is rehab" (after white powder or flour has been applied on the nose). Don't forget the liquor bottle prop.

Other celebrity costumes? Golden age sex kitten Marilyn Monroe (or is it Kelly Osborne?), Katy Perry's Sesame Street (black medium wig, red lipstick, lots of liner/mascara, extremely low cut Sesame Street character shirt), Kim Kardashian (black long wig, lipstick, liner/mascara, thick belt, and an attitude that can't lose), or Russell Brand (fake or real leather pants, patterned short sleeve shirt and loose hip moves while singing "Inside of You") are fun ideas. Don't forget to consider sitcom stars, big screen faces and low key names. Now, to couples costumes.

Celebrity Couples Halloween Costumes

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James as Jesse flirts with every stripper at the party. Mel Gibson and Okasana Grigorieva as Mel flips out calling her every slang insult he can come up with, and we mean silly insults. Another good Halloween couples costume goes to Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. If you haven't seen Demi's Dogg appearance, what's stopping you? After veiwing the TMZ dirty dancing video, you know what to wear and how to grind between two guys, Snoop and Ashton. Don't forget the phone for Ashton's prop or to tell everyone to add you on Twitter.

Musician Halloween Costumes

Don't judge a book by the second page, continue...

Musician costumes can include Rapper Paul Wall's backwards hat cool look with the raging mic in the hand. As reported by TMZ Paul Wall belted a concert fan after they flipped Wall off from the audience. So, to tie this costume together start attacking (play attacking) people with a fake mic between your raps. Another good musician costume goes to North Carolina's American Idol winner Fantasia. Don't forget to walk the walk, talk the soft talk, and always hold that cell phone in case "he" calls.

These two are not a couple but it's sure to be unforgettable. The controversial Rihanna and Eminem Halloween costume duo. Rihanna should have a red short wig under a hooded jacket. Eminem should have a white tank top and baggy pants on. To identify their hit song "Love the Way You Lie" Eminem should have women (fake) phone numbers along both arms and hands while both Rihanna and Eminem pick fights with each other over the numbers as the Eminem character holds a prop bottle of liquor. Then when everyone least expects it they kiss each other in a ridiculous exaggerated fashion. Don't forget to say "love the way you lie" in between each false insult, fake fight and make out make-up moment.

More Celebrity and Musician Halloween Costume Ideas

Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Larry King, any of the America Idol judges, Jennifer Aniston (perfect if you own a yellow lab, take them too - Marley), iCarly characters, Justin Bieber (dodge bottle throws), Beyonce, Angelina Joli, Brad Pitt, Kendra (a loud and bouncy blond), Britney Spears, Snooki (drink what appears endlessly and fake puking in front of a play camera), Paris Hilton, Michael Jackson, Notorious B.I.G., Steve Colbert (as seen speaking on immigration), Betty White, Charlie's Angels, The Joker, Batman, Saw characters, Harry Potter characters, any of the Kiss musicians, Alice Cooper, or one of our favorites - Brad Pitt's Inglourious Bastards character Aldo Raine.

Controversial Halloween Costumes

Pregnant nun, smoking lung, Lady Gaga's meat outfit, steroid jacked up football player (props needed with that pump you up attitude), drunk liver, blind doctor (with fake scalpel), religious sex therapist, the swearing sailor, a nuclear test subject, an illegal drug (such as marijuanna - use all the clippings on your lawn to attach to your body), suicidal prom queen, first lesbian U.S. President, the schizophrenic surgeon, Little Dead Riding Hood, the death row execution inmate that could never die (no matter how many times they tried - use props), or a 100-year-old stripper.

Traditional Halloween Costumes

Don't judge a book by the third page, continue...

Traditional Halloween costume ideas include Elvira, Igor, Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein, the Werewolf, zombie, ghosts and goblins, witches, warlocks, pumpkin, fortune teller, escaped institutionalized patient, magician, nurse, vampire gang, bum, cowboy, cave man or woman, wench, Medusa, one-eye cyclops, hippie, crazy clown, mad scientist, angel, mobster, maid or butler, Headless Horseman, pirate, mummy, cat, Playboy bunny, fireman, gypsy, Harley Quinn (Batman), military soldier, space man, computer geek, Zorro, cheerleader, Cleopatra, Mother Nature, tourist, evil nurse, nerd, Lizzy Borden, Devil, candy corn, flapper, gambler, dancer, or any of the Munster characters.

Or you can try one of these next suggestions. Smurf (with blue washable body paint), Invisible man (wear an extremely large suit where the collar can go over your head), anyone from the Twilight series, or a robot.

Off-the-Wall Halloween Costume Ideas

And we mean off the wall, literally, in more ways than one. Facebook "add friend" button, television, a tree, cell phone, a prescription, martini glass (with huge olive and umbrella), cannibal, Free Credit Report dot com singers (don't forget that guitar), or a tornado victim (random things attached to dirty ripped clothes).

Storybook, Fantasy, Food, and Animal Halloween Costume Ideas

Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White, Mother Goose, Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Fairy God Mother, Pippi Longstocking, Little Mermaid, Cat in the Hat, Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz, good witch on Wizard of Oz, wicked witch on Wizard of Oz, flying monkey on Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Sleeping Beauty (character dressed as princess should always yawn and want to fall asleep), Goldi Locks, Lil' Bo Peep, three little pigs (great for a trio), Pocahontas, Goddess, Star Wars or Trek characters, Avatar characters, Batman and Robin (Batgirl too), Mario (game), any of the characters on Runescape or other internet games.

Food is another great way to celebrate Halloween, on the outside. Dress like a chocolate chip cookie, carrot, or even any of the Fruit of Loom characters and enjoy the delicious compliments.

Animal Halloween costumes can include an inch worm, lady bug (reds with black dots), octopus, frog, dog, bird, fish (with fake hook in mouth), pig, bat, dalmation, bunny, lobster, crab, starfish, or a mouse are great Halloween costume ideas for children, and some adults. But the next couple of ideas are great for very young toddlers.

Infant and Toddler Halloween Costume Ideas

Don't judge a book by the fourth page, continue...

Infants and toddlers, they look so cute on Halloween each passing year. Here's a list to consider when trying to come up with that perfect infant or toddler Halloween costume. Bean pod, Cheerio's #1 fan (decorate outfit with Cheerios), an eggroll or taco (wrap the infant up with a decorated blanket), favorite animated character (read all warnings to face make-up, please), prince or princess, Sesame Street characters, Dora the Explorer characters, king or queen, Barbie, and lastly - a grape, banana, or apple.

Pregnant Mother Halloween Costume Ideas

Pregnant mothers, no worry, we didn't forget you! Be creative with one of these ideas. Use safe body paint (and we mean safe for baby, safe for you) to design two eyes, a nose and mouth then decorate your upper body to appear like a hat. Another idea? Use the paint to create a huge eye on the bump then wear black pants and a black hooded jacket but keep the eye open for all to see. We know, that one is strange, so try the next one. Use the paint and color the bump pumpkin orange with a pumpkin smile, eyes and triangle nose. Then walk around and hold your pumpkin. Some from a distance may actually think you are holding a pumpkin rather than you being pregnant.

Sports Oriented Halloween Costume Ideas

For all those who love sports here you go, more ideas. A football player, boxer, basketball player, soccor player, rugby player, baseball player, snowboarder, surfer, swimmer, hockey player, or tennis player are all good costume ideas. Sports characters do count in the world of sports. Michael Vick, O.J. Simpson, David Beckham, and the latest controversial news on other sports athletes can assist in gathering together a costume no one would expect. Keep up with the news and see how you can use it towards your costume. You can also dress as your favorite team player on any NFL teams ('tis the season).

We do have a great Michael Phelps costume idea. Simply follow this link.

Really Gross Halloween Costume Ideas

These are really gross! Decorate the belly area as if there is a placenta attached (check out local costume stores for fake placentas) then attach a baby doll to the end of the placenta. Make sure you splatter red washable paint on your clothes and the baby. You are now a proud, but morbid, parent. Especially when you ask someone if they want to hold your baby.

Don't judge a book by the fifth page, continue...

Other gross costume ideas include placing clear kid slime (found in toy stores) all over your clothes, arms, legs and sneeze every two seconds. If that's not bad then check out this prop. Take toilet paper and rub some melted chocolate or brown shoe polish lightly on the end of a couple slices then tuck them into your clothes and shoes as if the toilet paper just didn't make it into the toilet. When it comes to the rest of the costume pick any character, your choice. Yes, it's not a pleasant prop, that's why it's in the gross section.

But nothing deems grosser than what Ebaums World had to share through Diggs. Not suitable for children by all means, not even adults as far as I can tell, the bloody tampon ninja. Enter at your own risk. Don't get us started on the decomposing body costume idea - we'll skip that one for now, and the rest of this section.

Classic Halloween Costume Ideas

John Belushi as the King Bee or Samurai from SNL! Always classics! The bee outfit can be found at most costume stores, but you have to alter it to match that of Belushi's King Bee. The same applies with the Samurai. Capture the essence of Belushi's characters via Google. We have spotted the Samurai on YouTube. Samurai Deli is perfect for anyone working in the food industry. Just moan like Belushi and cut to the chase as seen in this 1975 SNL Samurai clip.

Who could forget Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Groucho Marx? And let's also toss into this mix the Little Rascals, Dagwood and Daisy, Humphrey Bogart, Howard Hughes, plus Shirley Temple. All great costume ideas to use. Also, there's Hugh (founder of Playboy), any of the past presidents, or any sitcom character that comes to mind such as Marsha from The Brady Bunch, Rerun from What's Happenin' or one of the sweat hogs from Welcome Back Kotter. Rambo and Wonder Woman are aging in interest but still marks great costume ideas.

That wraps up our 200 plus Halloween costume ideas. But remember, it's not all about the outfit. You have to use verbal props to bring most Halloween costumes to life. Happy Halloween!
