I'm gonna smile,
hold my head up high.
I am not going to cry over this.
I'll swing my hips a little more,
dance when I walk through the door,
wink at the fellas on the dance floor.
I'm gonna stand up straight;
lift my head,
and my spirit,
and I'm gonna make myself known.
I am not going to cry over this.
I'm free.
Free to act like me.
There'll be so much to do,
like breathe in the sweet scent of new.
Alone now, not lonely, and no baby,
oh no,
I am not going to cry
over this.
