"Over the Hill" Birthday Gifts

In no immediate fashion will I give my age away. Today, it has become my job and my pleasure to talk about giving great birthday gifts for those dear friends / family who have, or who are pushing that "over the hill" age. No longer perfectly young, yet not terribly old either, our "over the hill" crowd has come into their own. A certain sense of humor shows itself when you are "over the hill" that brings the ability to laugh at oneself and at the years past. Sorry indeed to have to push the age issue, after-all gifts for the aging at this great milestone call for a level of uniqueness unrivaled by other gifts.

Talking from personal experience brings me back to the late 80's when my aunt pushed over the hill. My mother and I went to the mall shopping for her with our sense of humor intact. As we walked through the place, it came to us as that bright light bulb hanging over our heads.....the gag store! They had everything in there for folks of all ages, and my aunt was not going to be spared. We searched through wigs, whoopee cushions, beer steins and t-shirts with smart aleck quips on them. We finally saw the greatest gift for my aunt! It was this over the hill cane! When over the hill, be careful not to become a doormat of sorts!

C'mon, you know these cheesy over the hill gifts are funny! In case your loved family member or friend gets cold in their old age, maybe this will help warm that old blood! For some people, cheesy humor isn't where it's at when they are over the hill. Some folks are just too mature for humor, yet have their own idea of what fun is. Is your over the hill person a man or woman? What are their tastes? Go with something that has always been on their favorites list unless they are so up there with class that this would just ruin it. For someone like this, maybe some good wine with flowers or some other nicer, more mature gift.
