Over Sanitizing Can Be Very Dangerous

Did you know that over sanitizing your home can actually be harmful to your children? This statement may sound wrong or backwards, but it is very, very true. Too many times, parents are overly concerned when it comes to germs and their children. Instead of worrying so much about being exposed to germs and sickness, parents should be wary of sterilizing too much. Why is that? Children as well as adults need a certain amount of germ exposure. This is because your body cannot gear up nor build up its' defenses without some sort exposure to germs.

If your body was never, ever around illnesses or the bacteria that causes them, then if you did happen to fall ill, it would be very bad. This is because your white blood cells build up their defenses in order to be able to ward of bacteria and illness. If they did not do this, then when your body did become ill, your white blood cells would have no way of supporting you. That is why it is very important to build up immunity in you or your childs' body.

There are several ways that you can build up your bodys' immunity. One way is by eating certain foods. Diet is very important when it comes to balancing your health as well as making it stronger.

Fruits and vegetables are very helpful when it comes to building up immunities. You have probably heard at one time someone say, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." This is very true. Apples are a really good source of many different vitamins. If you want to get the most nutritional value out of an apple then you need to eat the skin as well. The skin of an apple actually has more vitamins than the rest of the apple does. Another fruit that is excellent for when you trying to prevent illness or when you are ill is the orange. Oranges are full of vitamin C.

This vitamin alone can really help to bulk up your body's defenses. As far as vegetables red peppers hold a lot of vitamin C. Also, eating a lot of leaf greens can help to establish a good balance of nutrients throughout your body.

Another way to gear up your bodys' immune system is by taking some vitamin supplements. Make sure that the adults as well as the children in your household take a daily vitamin. Most of these contain all of the recommended vitamins you need every day. Also, there are many power drinks or smoothies that have immunity building supplements in them. These can be found in your local health store or at a local smoothie shop.

How do you know when you are being overly careful? Of course you do not want to be exposed to too many germs either. However, there is a happy medium. That happy medium means using hand sensitizer in moderation. You do not have to use it every single time you have touched something! Also, using plain soap and water is actually better for you than hand sensitizer. Remembering these things on a daily basis will help to keep you and your family much healthier.
