Overlooking Oblivion

Sam Elliott
And together we move, striving to hide
We exempt ourselves from our other side
We cry "Cut us free from our own mind's eye"
With deafening faith embedded in sky

They scribe the words to be lived by each day
They sculpt soaring icons from frail bits of clay
Moving the herd with the best intention of
Suppressing the weak and sifting their pension

To establish a trust greater than man
To manipulate it with human hand
Set ourselves back by letting us free
Free ourselves from lies of heresy
