Overthrow the Tea Party

Eleanthe Anderson
Yesterday, I spent a significant amount of time looking through various Tea Party websites in an effort to understand what the Tea Party is about and what they believe in. After considerable time and effort, I learned that the Tea Party, in addition to being strong proponents of bumper stickers and lawn signs, does have a set of "non-negotiable core beliefs." They are listed at the end of the article.

What does the TEA in TEA PARTY stand for?

Today, I have been contemplating the Tea Party core beliefs and just the whole Tea Party in general. First, I have to say that the Tea Party has been a little naïve in the use of their name. I understand that they are basing themselves on the original Boston Harbor Tea Party. But really? Tea Party? Aside from their early adoption and disassociation with the word "tea baggers," a look at any dictionary will tell you that the term Tea is slang for urine, marijuana, and liquor.

Here is an excerpt from dictionary.com explaining the term with examples:

Tea definition

n. liquor; alcoholic drink. : Would you care for more tea?

n. urine. (Usually objectionable.) : Is that tea on your pants leg?

n. marijuana. (Drugs.) : Can't you lay off that tea a while?

A Tea Party I would stand for.....as long as they called it something else and calmed down a little....

I personally disagree with pretty much everything the Tea Party stands for. That has inspired me to create my own political agenda. Here it is. And yes, I am aware of the negative connotations associated with "E"!

THE E PARTY:

CANDIDATE REGISTRATION

Yes, I would like to join my voice and opinion to the E party movement. I understand that as thinking and feeling human being, I may voice my opinion on any of the core beliefs and carry on and intelligent discussion and debate regarding them. I understand that I do not need to purchase t-shirts, bumper stickers, lawn signs or other related propaganda to be a member of your group.

What the E Party believes:

When elected I will work to install, protect and endorse the Non-Negotiable Core Beliefs of the E Party:

Non-negotiable core beliefs of the E Party:

Smaller military and less defense spending

More transparency in government spending and contracts

Stronger enforcement of anti-discrimination laws

Increased sharing of information and research in the fields of science and medicine

I'd join the E Party. I might even buy a bumper sticker. :) Gotta love the Tea Party Manifesto-- Illegal Aliens are here illegally? Really? Who'd of thunk it.

"Reduce Business Income Taxes Is Mandatory." -- Since 85% of the individuals and small businesses in this country have ALREADY had their taxes cut, isn't it obvious who's running this sham organization?

I thought it was a slap in the face that they even decided to call it after the origianl Tea Party. I'm with ya.

Intriguing to compare your proposed party agenda with the Tea Party. I learned new info from this article, too. Thanks!
