Owl: A Poem

Scott Bauer
As the sandy-ash owl flies east

High above the land

He ventures farther than the others

And comes upon a strange and twisted world

He circles and dips lower to cure his curiosity

Huge metropolises cover the horizon

Jungles of people and metal-heaped together as one

Stagnant lives - hope sucking poverty and despair rule

Humans are just ignorant lemmings of society

Farther he soars up and away from these mutilated masses

Over desolate mountains and giant craters

Night is eternal here

No people - no unnatural life - just nature as always

As it was it the beginning, as it is now, just nature

No problems is there on this planet that nature won't fix

Nature has the causes and the cures

She just uses them on her own leisure

Confusing the unbelieving

He looks once more upon this pathetic country

And flies back to his Eden
