Owls Head, ME 04854
United States of America
The Owls Head General Store is located at South Shore Drive, Owls Head Main. The Owls Head General Store as it names implies is an old fashioned general store. That means that you can get lots of things here. Besides being the towns main grocery store the Owls Head General Store also has a restaurant as well. Most patrons find the allure of the sea to enticing to stay inside and find themselves crossing the street and eating at either the lighthouse or picnicking on the beach.
While you can make your own picnic from the grocery store food the food that the Owls Head General Store offers will be much better then anything you prepare on the fly. the prices are reasonable so why try to save some money making your own meal? You probably wont save any money anyway.
A few things that the Owls Head General Store is know for include its famous Seven-Napkin Burger which cost just under $7 and is huge and messy which is why you will need the seven napkins. They also have great pies too. Just mention small town Maine and pies you can figure that these pies should be amazing and they are.
The Owls Head General Store also has stuff besides food you can buy. You can get lots of souvenirs most of which are not to tacky since that is not how Maine is. Everything is surprisingly reasonable prices. Most small towns that become tourist retreats charge a fortune for stuff because they know they can but the Owls Head General Store does not do that.
Besides eating at the beach you can also eat at the wharf which is another popular destination for patrons. I have never seen a place that is so popular but the patrons seem to run away to some other place as soon as they get their food and eat it there.
The Owls Head General Store is a must stop if in Maine. It is worth a trip out of the way.
