Own Your Friends: New MySpace Applet is Addictive

Christopher Blydenburgh
There is a new applet that recently went public in MySpace called "Own Your Friends." The concept behind this game is to see who is willing to pay the most for their friends and who is worth the most to their friends. I just started playing this game a few days ago after receiving several comments from my friends that had already started playing the game and wanted me to check it out. Within minutes I was hooked! Talk about an addictive game.

To play the game I had to accept the applet be downloaded to my MySpace page and that was a no-brainer. The game started with me being worth $500 and have $2000 cash on me to buy other users ("pets"). I can buy anyone I want on all of MySpace, but I stick to buying the people on my friends list. I have bought some of the people I don't like that well that were worth less that $800 and gifted them to other people for a $1000 bonus. That made for a quick profit, considering you can gift a pet and buy it right back just to gift it again. However, the value of a pet goes up each time it is bought or sold so I have to keep an eye on if its worth the flip on those users.

There are a few friends that I find to be truly priceless and thus far have been making sure to buy them back from whoever attempts to buy them from me. By doing this I have raised some of my friends values as high as $6000 in the last few days. I myself am currently worth $818, gee...not too many of my friends fighting over the rights to keep me in their "pet shop." Oh well, its still fun!

I was off of MySpace for several months due to lack of interest on the site and this has regained my interest in logging back onto the site. Which of course generates more money for the infamous "Tom."
