Poor Attempts at Marketing and Blogging Are Hurting My Eyes and Wasting My Time

Own a Viagra Farm in Florida Free for Surfing this Blog!!!!!
I make no secret that I play poker online as a hobby. It is fun, kills the time and I make a few bucks here and there. When I am playing I usually surf the internet mainly reading blogs on BlogExplosion, Mylot and Blog Soldiers or posts in some of the forums I visit. Here are some observations and Rants about what I find in the Blogosphere:
1. Slow loading Blogs. All of those fancy images, scripts and frames take forever to load on my cable modem (forget dial up surfers). On most of the traffic exchange sites you get a max of 30 seconds to get my attention. There are gobs of blogs I don't even look at because the counter ticks off before your blog loads. I won't be coming back.
2. Pop Ups. I have two pop up blockers running. If you put a pop up script on your site windows automatically blocks 90% of them now so you are wasting your time and ticking off your visitors.
3. Begger Blogs. I am not going to donate to your neutered dog's fake testicle implant bill.
4. Get Rich Scheme Blogs. I am not buying your ebook, scheme or scam.
5. Uninformed Opinions. If you don't like the President, the war, gas prices or Al Sharpton's Hairdo give me a reason I should listen to you. Just because you are a hater does not mean we have to come back.
6. AD Blogs. STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are polluting and demeaning the internet with your blind attempts to get one person to just click on something/anything in an effort to make a few pennies. Throw some original content or ideas out there and maybe something will stick.
7. Pictures of your Children. Folks I know you are proud of your families but in my line of work I can tell you there are some serious freaks out there with photoshop and way too much time on their hands. Don't post something that will come back as something perverted someday.
8. Nigerian Bankers and Phishers. Most of us are smart enough to spot your junk a mile away and we have told our parents, children and friends to never click on your stupid links.
9. Content Thiefs. You know if you have the technical know how to write a script to steal someone's work at least give them a link back. Geez.
10. The guy in Brazil who got hold of my Credit Card information. USAA called me about 10 seconds after you tried to buy a car in Rio. It is against the laws of physics for me to buy a tankfull of gas in Kentucky for $30 and ten minutes later be in Rio Charging $15,000 for a VW.
11. The person who dug through my garbage and got my social security number. I have had a PIN access code on my credit reports and identity for awhile now. Good luck and keep trying to write those bad checks. Eventually you will get caught and I will prosecute.
12. URL campers. Do you really make money buying up expired website names and praying someone types it in.
13. Keyloggers. To all of you Eastern European Hacker wannabes who hide that little program on your blogs that keeps trying to install itself when I hit your blog. Webroot Spysweeper is about 2 steps ahead of you.
14. Traffic Buyers. Ok guys, seriously target your ads. Buying 50,000 clicks to your Viagra or Health Food Supplement (fake) blog that uses generic cut and paste marketing blurbs can't be all that effective. What did you pay? $500-$1000 for all of those hits? Did you sell anything?

Finally. When you join an affiliate or advertising program at least pick something appropriate to your Blog's subject. Nothing ruins a well designed Blog with excellent writing like and ad for PORNPOSTERS or that hugemongous Amazon banner. Pick out a couple of books you think we might want to read, a service that compliments your blog to sell or just use Adsense for Content.

These are just somethings I have noticed while surfing the web. How about you?

  • Quit wasting talent, energy and bandwidth polluting the internet.
  • Most Bloggers are far more sophisticated than Phishers think.
  • Scams, Spam and Blind Marketing are a guaranteed way to ensure I won't be back.
My take: 50 million plus Blogs and most of them are horrible. Including mine.
