If you are someone who is going to use the treadmill more than anything else in the gym, why would you pay a monthly membership instead of simply buying your own? Many people feel that the price of the treadmill is simply out of their reach. But if you think about how much you will be spending on the monthly membership to the gym, you would actually be saving yourself money in the long run.
The average gym membership is around fifty dollars a month. That's six hundred dollars for one year's gym membership. Go for two years and you have spent twelve hundred dollars. As you can see, the cost of the membership will eventually far outweigh the price of a treadmill. But there are more benefits to owning your own treadmill than just saving money on gym memberships.
When you have a treadmill at home you can work out any time of the day or night that you want to. There is no reason to worry about when a gym opens or closes and how that works with your work schedule. You also do not have to worry about waiting for your turn for the machine. Since the treadmill is so popular in gyms, it is often the piece of equipment that people are waiting around for.
You also will not have to worry about being embarrassed during your workout. Even though there is nothing to be embarrassed about, you do not have to deal with strangers standing around you, waiting for their turn on the treadmill.
Another thing to consider is germs and bacteria. Just think of all of the people who use that machine. Of course it gets wiped down but you just never know what you can still get from it. You would not have to worry about getting the flu from your treadmill at home. And since working out is all about being healthy, this is an important point.
Then there is the hassle of driving to and from the gym, wasting gas money and time that you would not have to waste by using an at home treadmill. Think of all of the gasoline money you would spend in a year driving to and from the gym. That alone adds up to be a good bit of money that could be better spent elsewhere.
Once you sit down to think about it, not getting one of the fitness treadmills on the market for your home could very well be a financial mistake. And you do not want to skip out on both the treadmill and the gym membership as your health could go downhill and that too could cost you money that you do not have to spare.
