It did not take long to find the OXY Facewash (sold in a red, white, and black box) in my local grocer's hygiene section.
About OXY Facewash
Now, OXY Facewash is billed as an "acne-fighting formula" that is a gel which can be lathered up with water and massaged on to the face. After being rinsed off, it may be used second time in the same day. OXY Facewash is convenient to use and does not require a lot of clean-up, save for a good rinse.
The smell of the OXY Facewash gel has a clean, after-shave type scent to it. Another nice feature is that the cream does not feel heavy or oily. It goes on quickly and comes off without leaving behind a residue.
So, what exactly makes OXY Facewash work? According to the box, the active ingredient is salicylic acid (2%). OXY Facewash's salicylic acid is billed on the box as an "acne-treatment" designed to fight off the formation of new acne blemishes.
But that is not all OXY Facewash offers in helping to keep the acne at bay. OXY Facewash also includes Amazonian Dragon's Blood Tree Extract (croton lechleri), which helps to "soothe" skin, "reduce redness," act as an "antiseptic," and "promote healing and skin regeneration."
OXY Facewash also includes Phytic Acid Complex (PAC) to exfoliate and reduce the rough appearance of past blemishes.
But Does OXY Facewash Work?
I must say I have been using OXY Facewash alone and in combination with another OXY product called OXY Post-Shave Lotion Acne-Fighting Formula. At any rate, after using OXY Facewash for a few months, I noticed a marked decrease in the number of acne flare-ups on my face. The effect later stabilized. While I have yet to achieve a face completely clear of acne blemishes, OXY Facewash at the very least was able to control the acne breakouts I had been suffering.
The reason I like OXY Facewash is because I believe it has helped to keep my face relatively clear of moderate to major breakouts without having to take oral medications or use formulas that dry the skin out too much. I have not found OXY Facewash to be a product which dries my skin out too much, though I can attest to the fact that my skin does feel noticeably drier after using it.
It is fair to say that OXY Facewash will likely have different effects for different people, based on how severe or persistent their acne is, how consistently they use the product, and how the individual's skin reacts to OXY Facewash. Be sure to read all product safety and warning labels before use!
What's OXY Facewash Cost and Where Can I Buy It?
The product sells locally for between $6-7, based on the store at which I was shopping; I have been able to purchase OXY Facewash at a number of local grocery and pharmacy chains.
And if you are buying OXY Facewash, don't forget to also buy that OXY Post-Shave Lotion Acne-Fighting Formula---it goes great with OXY Facewash and combines for an acne-fighting duo that has proven to work on my face quite well!
