P. Diddy Jumps onto the Michael Jackson Tribute Song Craze

P. Diddy is an interesting character who took a rap career and built it into a multi-million media business juggernaut. His latest venture is into a Michael Jackson tribute songs craze with a song called "Better on the Other Side." The question one has to ask is for who is "Better on the Other Side," Michael or Sean?

P. Diddy better known as Sean Combs is the founder and CEO of Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment Group. According to his MySpace page, "it is a multifaceted entertainment powerhouse." One thing is for sure that is that Mr. Combs surly knows how to market a product.

It is interesting to note that he never once has been linked to Michael Jackson as a friend or foe. He does claim he has produced songs for Janet Jackson but it is interesting that he would write such a glowing song of Michael Jackson when it seems that he hardly knew him. Unfortunately, it seems that Diddy has jumped on the Michael Jackson money train along with a variety of other singers and songwriters.

It is unfortunate that he never expressed his feeling about Michael before the man died. From reports, Michael could have used some real friends. Of course, Sean Combs does know how to use the media to his advantage using his own image to parlay it into other revenue streams such as high fashion and other products not related to music. The problem is that Diddy should have tried to be a friend to Jackson instead of making money off his death through a song that drips with syrupy falseness.

To verify this just conduct a search and look for quotes from P. Diddy about Michael Jackson prior to his death, you will not find one reference in the last four years and that says it all. The question we all have to ask ourselves is where were people like Sean "Diddy" Combs when Michael Jackson was slowly killing himself with prescription drugs.
