P90X's developer is celebrity fitness trainer, Tony Horton (no relation to author of this article), who's in his 40s yet can out-fitness most any 20-something with his extraordinary physical fitness and muscle strength.
How the P90X Fitness System works:
This series of exercise routines is based on muscle confusion: imposing unpredictable and ever-changing muscle exercises to keep the muscles continually guessing as to what's coming next in the exercise program.
P90X is loaded with chest exercises, arm exercises, abs exercise and body weight exercises; some traditional, yet some unique. And the way in which they are performed is also unique and very different, which contributes to the muscle confusion aspect.
The fitness enthusiast will be totally delighted and exhausted at the end of these exercise routines; will never get bored; and will experience serious fitness results, even if you think you're already so physically fit you can't improve. This exercise program includes a fitness test to see if you're even ready for the exercise intensity.
Whom the P90X is for:
The man or woman who already has excellent body fitness but wishes to further slash body fat percentage. Stripping down body fat percentage will reveal the sleek muscles that you work so hard for through more traditional weight lifting exercises.

...12 exercise DVDs that consist of muscle-searing, heart-pounding routines, based on muscle confusion. Muscle confusion results when the body is introduced to new, hardcore exercise routines.
...three weeks of very grueling muscle training, followed up then by one week of lighter training, but "lighter" here is a relative term, trust me on that.
Exercise equipment needed:
Dumbbells, resistance tubing, a pull-up bar, pushup stand, chair/stool, and a desire to whup your already physically fit body into something more fitter than you can imagine.
