Gameplay

Pac vs Alien is essentially a series of mini-games that are all connected by the same storyline, namely that a UFO has kidnapped Pac's girlfriend, and Pac now needs to go save her. Each game utilizes the mouse for gameplay. You will need to either move the cursor around to move Pac, or you will have to click around while aiming with the mouse.

When you complete a stage, you will be scored on your performance during that stage. At the end of the game, you will be given a final score that will comprise of your overall performance throughout the game. This score can then be submitted to a global, online leader board, where you can compare your performance with other players of the game.

For each stage, if you are unable to complete the stage, you will be given the chance to skip that stage and continue with the story. You are given the Skip option after a few tries at the stage.

Game Review

Pac vs Alien is a moderately entertaining flash animation action game. First of all, I played the game with a touchpad, which was not easy to do, as some of the levels would have been easier to beat using a mouse. Even though it was not touchpad-friendly, it was still enjoyable. Linking the many miniature games together with the storyline kept me interested in what was going to happen next. This kept me playing the game, even though a few of the games were not easily playable on a touchpad. The storyline definitely adds entertainment value. However, the game does have a few other issues. There are a few problems with proximity (dying when near an object rather than dying from hitting an object) and control reaction times (some lag between Pac's actions and gamer's actions). These problems are not so major to take away from the game's plot, but does hurt the gameplay somewhat. A few more positive points include the upbeat music and the hand-drawn feeling of the game.

Pac vs Alien scores a 6/10 for being an interesting little story game. Fixing a few of the issues mentioned above would improve the gameplay greatly. This game has great potential.
