Brooklyn, NY 11201
United States of America
NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development gained control of the firehouse from the Black United Fund back in 2005 according to the New York Times. Since then, the Romanesque Revival style firehouse was converted into 18 subsidized apartments.
PACC plans on keeping the current housing units and hopes to have a non-profit organization move into the storefront. According to Brownstoner, renovations to this 1892 Frank Freeman masterpiece are expected to take place next spring. This will be a great addition to the growth of Downtown Brooklyn.
