Packing Tips to Help You During Your Move

Rik Rodriguez
If you have ever moved yourself you probably realize how big of a chore it can be. I have moved so many times that I have come up with a few moving packing tips of my own. Packing your personal belongings should not be left to your moving company in my opinion. Unless they will insure all of the contents of your home. So many people I know have items that they posses that have sentimental value to you. If this is you let me suggest that you pack these items yourself.

Collect or purchase boxes. Even better purchase some of those blue plastic containers with snap lids. They are inexpensive and will give you plenty of reassurance that your precious items will not get damaged. They are easy to load and stack. They also will protect your things from moisture. We bought probably 10 of them for our last move and I was wishing that I would have purchased 10 more. Next label them all, kitchen, bathroom, tools etc, When packing them use foam to cushion any breakable items. Try not to pack heavy items on top of delicate ones. This will prevent your delicate items from being damaged or completely broken.

When loading the plastic containers load all the heavy ones on the bottom. The containers cone be strapped down in a truck, this will prevent them from tipping over and breaking any of the contents. The plastic containers are probably one of my best moving packing tips. It will can save you plenty of headaches in the long run. If you have your containers properly labeled and you have packed them properly, you will arrive with all your items in tact. When unloading your containers take the appropriate box to the the part of the hose where it belongs to. This will save you plenty of work in the long run You shouldn't have to pick up the box again until its empty. If you must store items keep them in the containers until you are ready to use your items. I cant think of a better way to keep things safe. Regular boxes seem to deteriorate and suck up moisture. They do not protect your things very well in my opinion. They are not sturdy enough for many of the household things that I feel need protecting.
