May 2, 2009 will be the next big thing in boxing, today's best pound for pound boxer Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao will fight British Hitman Ricky Hatton. After few months of negotiating, the two great boxers already signed the contract, with a great deal that will benefit both of them. Just after Pacquiao's last fight against the golden boy Oscar Dela Hoya, Hatton has been eyeing Pacquiao to be his next opponent in the ring. But Pacquiao on the other hand is looking for Mayweather and we all know that he said he retired after his fight against Hatton.

The two has the best records in boxing right now, Hatton from Manchester, England has a record of 45-1 with 32 KO's is known for his powerful punch. His last fight was November last year against Paul Malignaggi held in MGM Grand in Las Vegas, it was an 11th round technical knock out. Pacquiao on the other hand has a 48-3-2, 36 by the way of a technical knock out and also a power puncher fought pay per view king Oscar Dela Hoya last December with an 8th round technical knock out. The two gentlemen came from their big victorious fight last year, obviously they are the king on their own and both has the biggest price for this year's boxing fight.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. will guide Hatton's training and strategy, while Pacquiao will go under the training camp of Freddie Roach. They will fight for IBO Junior Welterweight title owned by Hatton under the promotions of Golden Boy Promotions of Oscar Dela Hoya and Top Rank by Bob Arum with a pay-per-view telecast.

Do you think Mayweather Jr will get out of retirement just to fight Pacquiao? Heck no, I reckon he's far too comfortable now with his zero losses professional record. The Pacman got to look elsewhere.
