Thankfully, the marital issues of Pacquiao that involved starlet Krista Ranillo has already died down a bit and there is much excitement in his coming welterweight title defense against Clottey.
In a uniquely staged press conference that I saw on TV today, Manny looks very excited for this fight. He is calm and relaxed and still humble. He said that he felt like a football star because of the grand introduction complete with cheerleaders. But I think that Manny is more than a football star. He has had many achievements already as an athlete and if there is anybody who is more deserving of his group of cheerleaders, it is Manny.
Anyway, the fight will be held at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas instead of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas where Pacquaio's fight is usually held. I think that millions of viewers around the world will subscribe to the Pacquiao-Clottey fight on pay-per-view. But it is much cheaper than going to the actual fight and buying a ticket. I believe it is still equally exciting.
Pacquiao said in the press conference that he is excited about this fight because he has one tough contender in Clottey. In the same way, Clottey, too is looking forward to pit his worth against Manny because he thinks that Manny is one of the greatest boxers. It is really refreshing to hear Clottey say that as opposed to the usual proud remarks of Manny's past opponents. Then in the end, they eat dust.
Now, who do you think will win? I think this will be a good show to watch. The fight may last up until the last round for full entertainment. But if Manny gets hurt, we all know that he is bound to finish a fight early to prevent further damage to his body, especially his face.
As usual, I am rooting for Manny. I don't bet. If I had made bets for Manny, I would have won a lot of money already. But I am not a gambler. I am just rooting for one of my own. Manny, you are one good fighter. Prepare well and keep your head over your shoulders. As always, stay humble and keep your faith in God.
Mabuhay ka, Manny! You have made Filipinos around the world very proud.

Post a CommentFor me I can simply say, pacquiao need make this one hell of a fight into a serious one because clottey for sure won't give him an easy fight. This fight would lead to clottey's fame so he might give all his best and that make this fight hard for pacquiao. http://manny-pacquiao-vs-joshua-clottey.blogspot.com/
It could be one of the best fight of 2010. I will surely watch this.
Pacquiao and his fight with clottey is the fight of the year.
