Padme Amidala from Star Wars Halloween Costume

Zana Quinn
Padme Amidala is definitely among the best dressed in her galaxy-maybe even the universe. My favorite outfit of hers was the white jumpsuit she wore on Tatooine just before the Nexu attacked. All of her outfits look intricate and complicated to reproduce, but I have a few tips here to help you put this outfit together.

White Leotard and Leggings

Padme is in great shape and this outfit shows off her great body. It is basically white skin-tight clothing from head to toe. You begin with a white leotard that has long sleeves and match it with a pair of white leggings. Once you put these on you'll start to imagine how the rest of the outfit will come together.

Tan boots

Padme's tan boots may be difficult to reproduce. The closest match I have seen to them are tan snow boots. However, it can be difficult to find snow boots out of season. Keep an eye out for any tan boot you can find except cowboy boots. Your local secondhand stores, like Goodwill and Salvation Army, may have a pair of vintage vinyl boots for sale. You may even want to buy a new pair. Tan suede boots are in fashion right now. Although they can be pricey, you would be able to get more wear out of them besides just on Halloween.

Wool Cloak

I find it very difficult to find a wool cloak exactly like Padme's, but you can come really close with alternatives. A wool cloak, scarf, or throw would be wonderful matches but difficult to find. Look for a large cream-colored scarf or throw to drape from your shoulders. No one will ever know the difference.

Hair

For hair fit for Padme, begin by pulling it all back into one large ponytail using a rubberband (or ponytail holder, etc.). Now create tandem loops by braiding tiny sections of the ponytail. Bind all of the ends of the braids around the existing ponytail. Use a second rubberband to hold them in place. If done right, both rubberbands should be virtually in the same place.

Make-up

Padme's make-up was soft and natural. For this same look sweep a rose color across the eyelids and cheeks. Then use a rose lip gloss on the lips. Like Padme, your natural beauty will shine through.

Accessories

Padme's accessories pull her outfit together. One of the accessories is a tan tool belt that matched her boots. If you want, wear a regular tan belt, a tan cumberbund, or wrap a tan strip of cloth around your waist to give the illusion of a tool belt. On both of her biceps she wore silver bands that signified her service to her people. You can recreate the bands by placing two large silver bracelets around your upper arms.

Add a large toy gun and you are ready to take on the Nexu!
