James R. Ford
You should have left here long ago
waiting in peace possibly
hoping for a piece of the puzzle missing
in your life, not wanting anything else

muted greens and blues
sparkling in your brand new shoes
bought from the second hand store
on the north side of town

you're not on the payroll anymore
walking the pavement backwards
waiting in relief for the pain
the pain that'll never end

look me in the eye
stop your crying, no surprises
gone but not forgotten
like a million miles from yesterday

Page views the world
through rose colored glasses
nothing artificial in her despair
she drinks her water slowly
not going anywhere at all.

Wow! I find several meanings in the writing as a whole, and also in each stanza. In one meaning, I can really relate. Very nice.
