Pageflakes: Internet for Really Dumb People
A New Website that Makes Your Internet Experience Easy and Fun
It literally took three minutes to sign up and it was free. And free is my favorite four letter word, so how could I resist?
So I went onto the website pageflakes.com and signed myself up. I then realized I could add links to all of the things that I want to see when I sign online. I had links to my email accounts added, as well as to my myspace, and I could even see when a new comment was made on my page! I know it sounds dorky, but I was super excited.
There were also premade things I could add like bbc news, or the nytimes website, or even Hollywood gossip. I could also add feeds, which are like websites that are updated very often, to my page. I added my boyfriend's blog and mine, as well as some comics. So now, I have set my homepage to my pageflake and voila! I have all of the sites I actually want to go to and things I'm interested in reading about right at my fingertips!
And if you think this is only for cybernerds try again.
My seventeen year old cousin who knows more about Hollister than she does U.S. history came over to me and was like "What is that?" I explained the webpage to her and she's like "I WANT ONE". So I sent her the link, and now she has it set up as well. This thing spans the ages and makes the internet experience so much smoother. I know that we live in a time of convenience, and one might say this is lazy. But you know what's lazy? Not getting up to get the phone and letting the machine pick it up. Or farting in your chair because you don't want to go to the bathroom, so now you made the room stink. Or throwing your garbage on the floor. All of these things are lazy. Pageflakes is not. You guys should check it out.
