Others commit suicide for religion not for self and they will die taking as many ungodly souls with them as they can. They don't have to ask God for forgiveness from suicide for they will be welcome and rewarded in Heaven for helping to cleanse the earth of evil.
If suicide is morally justified as long as its done in the name of God or religion is it morally wrong to die in place of someone else? Would the price of death be your soul? Bodyguards know too well the risk of placing monetary value on human life. The president wouldn't go anywhere without an entourage of bodyguards ready to take any bullet meant for them. What a noble gesture these modern age knights make for their king. Suicide in this manner is part of the job description.
Firefighters and policemen and women willingly commit suicide to save the lives of others all "In the line of duty." Running into burning buildings, chasing armed gunmen, stepping in during natural disasters to bring others to safety, and attending to domestic violence situations.
Other protective maneuvers where life is traded for lives are grounded on the forefront of security, but for the greater good of common man. To sign up under the military is at the fiber of this suicidal depiction only one life will spare many. America stands for "One Nation Under God" so does this mean that those serving in the military are given the authority to die in the name of God? A country protected by God should already have its protectors pre-approved with a "You don't have to ask for forgiveness card."
If a person dies unintentionally in place of another while saving or trying to save them will God see this as suicide? The answer may lie in society's perception of a more valued life. The valued lives are those who hold higher positions in society and supposedly make greater contributions to the world. Lives such as these are the president, the pope, celebrities, and the very wealthy.
Suicide to save another could be considered unforgivable since all life has value and is equal in the eyes of God. I think it all boils down to what we believe as an individual. Our belief is very powerful and could cross over into an afterlife. If you believe you are going to Hell for committing suicide you just may find yourself there, if not you may wind up in Heaven. God is the only one who knows for sure.

Post a CommentGod is an imaginary manifestation of the Medieval mind. He or She is no more real than last night's dream or today's fantasy. Your life is yours to do with what you want; live it or leave it, it's up to you. No one else, god or friend or foe, can establish meaning in your life. If ending your own life somehow provides validation for your existence and generates a meaningful exit statement for you...have at it. But don't delude yourself that you will win favor with god if you take out a few "infidels" when you atomize yourself. That mentality not only negates any accrued value for your life, but it imposes immense grief and pain on those who are left to mourn.

i dont think anyone owes god anyhting because when god decided to put you on earth he never asked whether you want to part of a proper family rich beautiful etc he just gave you what he thought appropriate so i think each person is entitled to do as they please regarding god
