Pain
There is a pain in your eyes
I wonder, what could it be?
I see it in the way you sit,
Your head down and
Your hands folded in your lap
You look away when I speak to you
As if frightened by my face
You talk slowly,
As if the words you say
Are tearing at your heart
Please tell me what is hurting you
I will try to take it away
For the pain you feel is hurting me
And now as I look in the mirror,
I see your pain in my eyes.
